These pictures are from February 29th when Cedar Waxwings, Desert Mistletoe berries and Western Bluebirds were observed on a mesquite tree at Sabino Canyon. There are still some berries left but the waxwings and bluebirds have probably migrated by now.
They come and get drunk off of our berries and then leave....what a bunch of party poopers:) I remember entering a grove where Robins and Waxwings this year were acting all crazy in the air. It was fun to watch:)

I was walking in the desert recently and was hit by a very nice smell. It turned out to be these same berries. I picked a piece of the plant so I could ID it, and sure enough, Desert Mistletoe. Great post!
