Hello! While looking through my photos, I found these bird pics that hadn't made it into blog posts yet, probably because a few of them are blurry, but the encounters were sweet and I wanted to share them anyway. From the last week of March and first week of April:
Wonderful! I'm always surprised to see a hummer sitting on a branch--like the world isn't quite right! LOL I giggle every time I see the Gambel's quail running on the ground...funny birds. And, wow, that vermillion flycatcher is gorgeous.
Love these birds....especially the Northern Mockingbird!! They are all over right now. The White Crowned Sparrow has been quite popular around homes this winter and spring:)
We are so lucky to live in such a wonderful area. I love being able to see all these birds from my window. You have several of my favorites, the clowns and acrobatics of the bird world the Cactus Wrens and the Verdins.
I wish I had seen the quail when I was in Arizona in February. However, when we were at Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, I found a shirt at the gift shop by Nancy Lenches called "Sacred Quail". I love her artwork.
So sweet!!! I had an encounter with a bird at my Moms house the day after she died. When I got out of my car at her place, this bird flew back and forth between a large tree in her backyard and her huge avocado in the front yard, doing summer-salts and loudly chattering non stop for several minutes. It made me stop and pay attention. An awesome moment in time. Birds are one of God's greatest gifts!!! xoxo- Julie
