  1. Wow. I am so glad I came over here just now. I loved the Saguaro when I was in Az but never saw such flowering close up, and the fruit splitting open. So beautiful this earth, thank you.

  3. The fruit on our saguaro always dries up and drops off. At least I think it all does...I better look again. Beautiful pops of color.

  7. Wonderful photos.
Love the last photo. So funny that of all the saguaro with fruit he picked this one to have lunch at. Maybe strength in numbers ?

  8. Incredible! I love all the fruit on the Saguaro. Your shots are perfection. I want to hike so bad but it's too hot. I get outside and I walk back inside. I have no will to endure this nastiness. I sneak out at night to do my gardening and watch the birds from my window but that's about all all. The mornings are the best time, but I'm a night owl at heart so I need that AM sleep:)

  10. Beautiful photos, Diane. I'd like the saguaro fruit also--but not to eat... They are such beautiful blooms.

    Hugs,

  11. Gorgeous shots as always, but I will say that the heat must be horrendous this week.

I also now have Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen" stuck in my head.

    "Just like a white-winged dove
    Sings a song
    Sounds like she's singing
    Woo, woo, woo"

  22. Hi Julie, the saguaro flowers are white, but then as you pointed out, when the fruits split open they look like red flowers. Birds love both the flowers and fruit, so there is a lot of activity around these cacti in May and June!

  23. Olbrzymie kaktusy z kwiatami u góry wyglądają cudownie,a oba ptaki mają wspaniałą ucztę. Pozdrawiam.
Giant cacti with flowers at the top look wonderful, and both birds have a great feast. Yours.
