I didn't think I could see the sunrise from my backyard. But early one morning I peeked over the wall, between tree trunks, and spied a palm tree way in the distance surrounded by orange and violet sky colors. As the wind gently blew the palm fronds, the view changed. It was like looking into a kaleidoscope. Each moment was fresh and new. Neat!
I snapped this picture. Not a sharp image, but I did capture the shapes and colors.
original imageThen I played around with the image in photoshop, trying out different adjustments and filters. I'm not sure why it's so much fun manipulating photos. Maybe the element of surprise, and the chance to experiment with colors without having to clean up big messes.
mosaic, inverted colors glass distortion spin, inverted colors, paint pinch, extrudeThese last two are abstracted quite a bit and barely look like palms anymore. But I think they still the have the essence.

wow, i am amazed at how photoshop can give one picture many different looks, i don't know which one to choose as they all have their uniqueness.
Diane, that's a great capture. And I agree, there's something about photoshop and what it can do that can pull you in for hours, sometimes!

That is a gorgeous photo and lots of fun with your alterations!
Hi how are you?
I was looking through your blog, and I found it interesting, and inspiring to me, so I thought why not leave you a comment.
I too have a blog that I use out of Southern California here in San Diego.
Mostly it is a collection of artistic expression, and I have many friends with the same interests, maybe you can become my friend, and follow, and I can also follow you, if that is okay.
Well I hope to hear from you soon, and or read about you….LOL
Sincerely,
Jesse

Photoshop remains more or less a mystery to me. I never seem to get it right.
