Weekend Reflections - Happy New Year

I saw this reflection in the window of a small shop downtown:

It turned out to be a decorative street lamp with a colored glass shade and whimsical metal butterflies.

And there was even a little caterpillar just beginning its journey!

New Years is a time of reflection and also a new beginning...enjoy!

Firstly, my I say how very beautiful the cactus in your header is? Here in Australia, I know it as Prickly Pear which is not a very romantic name!

Secondly, I love your reflection for this week for the way you have framed it with the blue and the gold.

I wish you a happy and healthy journey into twenty ten.

I grew up in Arizona and am drawn to blogs from there - found yours through Weekend Reflections. Love the metal work reflections - I really miss that kind of stuff. Happy New Year from Saudi Arabia!

What amazing photos! I love the caterpillar too.

The colours in your header are lovely, I'm always entranced by the different hues in prickly pear cacti.

Happy New Year to you Diane, may 2010 be a great year for you, and thank you for all your great blog posts over the last year, which I have so enjoyed.

Really nice reflection shot. The vibrant blue against the mustard yellow is really striking. And what a great street lamp! Happy New Year to you. Kathy

Very clever! Show the excellent reflections, then turn to what was reflected. The reflections are great (I like the 2nd one because it's larger), but the street lamp is really cool.

If you want to see a photo sequence of a caterpillar transforming to a butterfly, have a look. I shot this sequence this past summer.
