One and Continuous

Observed on a leisurely walk:

snow on the mountaintops

reflected goldfinch silhouette

frost on prickly pear cactus skeleton (sepia-toned)

black-chinned hummingbird

black-throated sparrow

Harris' antelope ground squirrel

robins in mesquite tree

cactus wren (photoshop watercolor effect)

Your leisury walks are so well documented and rewarding!
The first picture says it all. So beautiful.
I am wondering if Thoreau would have lived in the desert and written a book about his experience, lol.
The saying is so much true though.

If they talk, they'll tell many stories, and only if we want to listen.

Hi Diane. The first shot looks like a Saguaro cemetery. That cactus wren is a brave bird!

Diane, what a delightful place for a leisurely walk. You get great bird shots. I struggle with that. I especially like the reflection bird, but best the frosted cactus skeleton. Mike has been playing with those very craftily. Great post!

Snow on the mountain and dessert below? That's a cool pic! Also that reflected goldfinch silhouette pic - the proportion is equal as well.

Love the animal in actions.
My favourite shot is the first, second and last bottom.

Happy day:)

Diane, your bird shots, especially the goldfinch are precious. Oh, how I wish I could capture photos like that. The snow on the mountaintops with the desert foreground is really cool. A fascinating shot.

Your desert is alive with birds. They must make a cheerful sound when go hiking. The weather finally improved so Jules and I could go walking in the regional park. Heard very few birds but did see a coyote.

It's nice to see many different type of birds. The watercolor effect gives it a different and interesting look. I like the goldfinch reflections. It looks perfect.
