To the woods and back

Staghorn Cholla Cactus

Hummingbird monitoring project in the forest

Pretty colors!

Vitex tree

Pictures are from a morning nature walk last week.  The final two pics show Lil Hummer in our garden.  We still see him (or her) each day, but Lil Hummer is not the only baby bird in our yard.

You take such beautiful pictures. I love Lil Hummer. How adorable. I have two baby Vitex trees also and the hummers do love them.

Love love love that the little humming bird is staying around your yard.
I have several zooming around my yard but I don't feed them. I want to but I can't have them dependent on me to fill the feeder.
Your photos are always so wonderful.

cheers, parsnip

Hey, the big bad hummingbird I call Sluggo came back a couple of days ago. I was so glad to see him again! You capture the beauty of the desert so perfectly.

Great photos. It was so cool yesterday and now today, I'm going up into the desert where I heard some petroglyphs are tomorrow morning. Up by Cave Creek. Hope it's still cool.
