Snow

It snowed in Tucson yesterday, which is pretty rare.  By this morning the snow on the ground had melted but there was still some snow on rooftops and shrubs.

At Sabino Canyon at 7:00am the place looked so different with a dusting of snow on the cacti. It seemed everyone was taking pictures! The sun was playing peek-a-boo and the snow was slipping off of cacti left and right, but these pictures should give an idea of what the desert looked like.

Enjoy your weekend!

Lovely series of photos. The sky is colorful and beautiful on the first shot. I like the peeks of sunlight showing up on the later images. And I did not miss the woodie either, great sighting.

So beautiful, and the light on the cactus in images 2 and 3 is perfect!

Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter!

Wonderful photos.
Love the cactus with snow and bird the best. You know he is thinking wait this is Tucson why is there all this white stuff ?
It started snowing at my home about 11 and kept on all day. I am just about 3 minutes from Sabino and we were completely covered in snow !

cheers, parsnip

This just takes my breath away. If it has this effect on me, I can imagine that you are still holding your breath at all this beauty. I especially like the silver/gold pictures.

beautiful set of pictures, snow becomes lovelier with your set of pictures, it just looks more magical when combined with desert landscapes and the lights are really providing great contrasts to your pictures.

Hi Diane, Great photos. You've certainly had more snow than we've had here in Portland (Kara Nursery - Oregon Cactus Blog).
Would you give permission to use one or two of the photos in my next "Cactus Chatter" newsletter (Oregon C.& S. Society).

Photos of the blog"Snow" is very attractive and extraordinary. The photos are so colorful and awesome. And in the first photo the timing of 7:00 am is very beautiful. Hard to believe that, it is a real picture but it is. The way it has been taken is very good.

Unique :) I really enjoyed your post.
Its not usual to have snow and cactus plant together.
Cactus is usually associated with desert.

Thanks for sharing. Nice Clicks!
Have a great weekend.
