Wow, what a lovely respite. Blue heron in the middle photos?

awwwwwwwww, I love Reid Park.

Wonderful photo today. Do you know what the red bird is ? The silhouette is very Kingfisher, but they are blue.
I have several Cardinals in my yard again this spring and I love the bright red against the green.

cheers, parsnip

Hi Brenda, I think the herons in pics 3 and 4 are black crowned night herons and the birds holding their wings open (pic 6) are some kind of cormorants.

Parsnip, the red one is a vermilion flycatcher. I've only see them at parks and schools, never in the wild.

A beautiful walk for Mothers Day. I was just in AZ, and it wasn't too hot - just right, in fact.

So beautiful. Makes me want to go out early and see what I can find. The red/black bird is especially nice. Love the glow of light on the top of his head.

The birds were certainly enjoying the early morning light. And the duck and ducklings were reminding us of a mother's love.
