Saguaros

moon and saguaro blossom 10/24/2013

Gila woodpecker

Blooming cacti can still be found in the fall though they are few and far between.  Autumn seems like a quiet season in the desert compared to summer.

Quietly beautiful.

It's still beautiful year-round, though, especially since there's no white stuff on the cacti (usually).

Time for the saguaros to take a well deserved rest...

So beautiful. You've shown me a very different aspect of the desert. Great how the birds make their nest in the cacti.
