This first group of slender mushrooms was standing in a wooded area by the creek.
The next two mushrooms were growing on the side of the road right out in the harsh sunlight where the cacti grow.
These appeared in my backyard. I tipped one over to look at the gills.
I found the remaining mushrooms on the roadside. At first glance I thought this was a ground squirrel standing up:
The last one fascinates me because of the dirt on top and also the light portion on the rust colored cap, a patch of universal veil maybe?

I have had a few in my yard that I have the gardeners take out right away. Too uggie for me.

Aren't they strange? I've had them in my yard several times during a wet monsoon. The last one I am familiar with as it spews a black cloud of spores into the air. Not sure what it's called but it's a cool shroom!
Such a variety... Except for the milky ones I have no idea what they are and
would not dare eating a single one of them...
I think the last might be a puff mushroom. Who would think your desert climate is wet enough? I guess you've had just enough rain. How long must they lie dormant, you have to wonder?
If that is amazing because they need water. The collage is a "Parasol" and is very good on the grill;))

The cousins over here say hi to them.
Mushrooms are fascinating. I don't eat them, but they're fun to take photos of.
