ReplyDeleteHi Tom, It is a man-made watering hole lined with cement. I think water is added regularly by drip irrigation.

ReplyDeleteWater is really a symbolic of life. Can you imagine finding a pool of water in the middle of a desert when we are thirsty? I am sure we will be glad to find it.

ReplyDeleteLove this post. At the Visitor Center at Dripping Springs, just outside of Las Cruces, there is a little trickling fountain in the natural garden area. Everyone is attracted to it, as we desert dwellers always gravitate toward any water. Then you look down at the small sign, which says something like--Just as you were drawn to the sound of water, so are many desert animals. Watch your step [for snakes] on the way out.
