Oh how I love spring in the desert, seeing the cactus blooms just gives me a little thrill. Glad I got to see that last week, because it will be a while before seeing any blooms up here.
May must be one of the best times of year in the desert --since you see all of the new growth. Our new growth is usually in April here---although we see lots of it throughout the summer also.

Your desert is blooming. I wish the cactus would bloom in cooler weather, no friend of the heat am I. Barb and I had to seek some shade on our walk, it's getting warm here, too.

Hi Neus, Yes, this cactus make fruit. Some people use it for syrup or jelly. :)
