We found these shadows at
Lake Balboa in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California a couple of weeks ago. We had intended to visit the nearby
Japanese Gardens, but they were closed while we were in the area. Lake Balboa did turn out to be a great place to watch birds though.
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Camel ?
Ok, not a bird, but it had a nice little shadow at 11:00am.
I like the heron and egret. From their spindly legs to pointed beaks, the water avians look tall and proud. The camel looks pleasant as it lies in the sand. And to think I thought camels were mean. Here he is personable!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the trees seem to be leaning in the camel photo - the area must get some wind! Also, that little tiger is very scary!
ReplyDeleteLove the Heron and the Egret! And that camel is so cute! Terrific fun shadow shots for the day Diane! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

The lake has many wonderful birds to photograph. The camel
ReplyDeletes shadow is so clear - I love the shape.
Your (non-bird) camel reminds me of the old bit about being thankful that camels CAN'T fly.
ReplyDeletegreat set of bird pictures again Diane. i love herons and egrets, they are interesting to photograph.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteShadow Shot at my page, hope you can visit. Happy Halloween!
You have found a camel.
ReplyDeleteSo, ready for a ride?
Great shadow pictures, Diane.... And --you won't see those 'curvy' critters in Zona, will you??????
ReplyDeleteGreat post!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
That heron shadow is awesome, but the camel is over the top including the shadow.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a cute tiger in your sidebar! :)
ReplyDeleteFun looking curvy shadows. And the smile on the camel's face is really cute too.

That looks like a lovely day out! I don't think I've seen a heron quite so big before. The ones here are much smaller! Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen a camel quite like that one before either ;)
ReplyDeleteOh lol, I was expecting another bird!
ReplyDeleteOh that neck... I wonder if anyone would want hold on it... and if the bird will find it ticklish he he...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday Diane!
Very nice shadow shots. And, I love little Tyler Tyger in the sidebar, just adorable.

I love herons and egrets - they have so much character. So does the camel, by the way! Although in his case I think maybe I'd say "attitude" instead of "character".
ReplyDeletegreat shadows...but I must say, I am enjoying the lovely photos on your side bar of you sweet little pumpkin grandson!
ReplyDeleteOk...the picture of your grandson is adorable! In that little tiger suit!
ReplyDeleteWow..I like those curvy shadows! The great egret is fantastic to see.
