Skylines

Greetings from the Sonoran Desert!  This week for fun I'm sharing some of our sunny skies with an emphasis on lines against blue sky.

See more skies from around the world at Skywatch Friday hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren and Sylvia.

  2. Great shots and perfect composition in all, of course even without the lineman, I can't help but think of your father and grandfather when I look at the second one.

  3. Gorgeous blue skies and I love all the cacti and your composition as always! Certainly looks a lot more cheerful there than it does here, that's for sure!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Diane!

  5. Sometimes when I send pictures of the Tucson Sky people don't believe how clear blue it is. In fact I sometimes can't believe it myself !
Your first photo of the Saguaro "Forest" with vapor trails ... fabulous.

  6. I love all the lines against those intense blue skies. The first one, exceptional! And the second one puts to mind to use the lines as part of the composition instead of wishing they weren't there. It looks warmer than here. Or is that just an illusion? ;)

  12. Each photo is so evocative of your part of the world, but in a different way. I love the structure in the third photo, I think it would go quite nicely over a patio that is being planned in my head!

  20. I am wonder whether there will be any snow in your desert.

    A desert with snow?

  21. Rainfield, that is a great question! Each winter, it snows on the mountain tops. And occasionally, it does snow a tiny bit down in the valley, about once every ten years or so.

  22. A wonderful collection of lines against the blue. Love how you see similarities in diverse places. That sounds weird, but I hope you understand what I meant. :)
