Hola! Tuesday turned out to be a good day for skywatching in Tucson with the clouds and all. Enjoy your day and remember to look up at the sky when you have a chance. :)
So beautiful... I took some photos of the same cloud but from a different place. I love when you and I do that so very interesting. In fact I posted the same clouds that you posted #3 on on my blog today. So different !
OH, wow... incredible cloud shots... so different they are yet both are timeless, the first one feels like stillness whereas the last one evokes journeying...
Okay, I have to ask...are mockingbirds common in AZ and, if so, are they extremely vocal in a cheery all-over-the-place sort of way? That looks like one I was enjoying listening to this morning...but it was too far away for me to be sure. :-)
Hi Darla, it probably was a mockingbird that you heard. The other cheery singers commonly heard around here are curve-billed thrashers and house finches but they don't sing as exuberantly as the mockingbird.
Thank you, Diane...I googled the curve-billed thrasher to see photos and some of its song on youtube and now pretty sure it was a raucous thrasher I heard, not a mockingbird! LOL This is fun. I've never wanted to know which bird was singing when I lived in Maine but here they seem to stand out more. :-)
The cloud looks ominous like it's going to get us:) Everytime I hear a mockingbird, I smile. We have one that comes to visit every year before the start of monsoon. I leave my screen door open at night and fall asleep to his sounds.
Great photos.
