Wonderful photo today. Do you know what the red bird is ? The silhouette is very Kingfisher, but they are blue. I have several Cardinals in my yard again this spring and I love the bright red against the green.
Hi Brenda, I think the herons in pics 3 and 4 are black crowned night herons and the birds holding their wings open (pic 6) are some kind of cormorants.
So beautiful. Makes me want to go out early and see what I can find. The red/black bird is especially nice. Love the glow of light on the top of his head.

ReplyDeleteParsnip, the red one is a vermilion flycatcher. I've only see them at parks and schools, never in the wild.
