Gorgeous photos of the desert, Diane. Hope all is well with you and your family!
These photographs are wonderful, Diane! Those colors... I didn't realize desert colors were so gorgeous. I would love an outfit in those warm pinks and sage greens... or in the deep cranberry and greys. You may have inspired me to knit an afghan in those colors. Simply gorgeous. Thanks!
A beautiful collection of pictures, I especially like the soft colors of the cactus.☼ Sunny
You have such a gift. I look outside and all I see is brown desert. You can find the pretty things in it!
Fantastic shots!!!! I love them. Thanks for sharing:)
I particularly like the sweetness of the first one and the originality of the last one.
These are AWESOME photos, loved them all!
You have finally decided to send us some news from the desert.Have a nice week.
Impressive! I like the squirrel.
You make me long for the southern Desert. Those cactus fruit look almost ready to harvest.
Stunning photos of an amazing landscape...I lived in Tucson for many years before moving, under good circumstances, to Mississippi. I spent a month back there this summer because I will always be part desert-rat! I recognize those mountains, the Rincons, and perhaps you were at Saguaro Monument-East. Thanks for making it possible for me to 'virtually' visit my old home!
Your desert colours are so different from ours here...just love the photos.
You too! Looks like you've been having a wonderful walk!
Beautiful photos, Diane... I love seeing Summer in the Desert.... The cactus blooms are gorgeous ---and I love seeing the birds. Thanks.Hugs,Betsy
Such beauty in the desert. I can recognize some of those cacti :)
Whoa-zers! This is such gorgeous photography and succulent scenes from the sesert...it takes my breath away!!! I have never seen flowers like the ones on that prickly pear in the 6th pic down! What is that? Do you know??? WOW WEEEEEE!!!!!
Hi Julie, those are cholla flowers, I think the chainfruit type.
you always inspire me of your desert pictures Diane, your bird pictures are amazing, is the bigger one an owl? it is so beautiful
Great shots. Very colorful! I particularly like images #1, 3, 6 and the last one.How I wish that UAE's desert is the same as Sonoran Desert. Yours is such a beautiful place to photograph.
Diane, These photos are wonderful - love the owl! I also always like seeing how TJ has grown.
Those plump cacti are marvellous! Those little 'pears' look so cute. I hope the animals don't eat them ;-)
awesome rapture wow
Love those pics!Extremely beautiful, Diane!!What a great series of desert photos!(I was on vacation now I'm back.Missed your great photography).B xx
The cactus and the flowers looks beautiful. Nice composition and captures.Especially I like the first photo.
What a great capture on the Cacti and birds, especially the owl. Fantastic shots.
I LOVE the little lizard! Heeere leezard leezard leezaaard! ;o)All in all, a great bunch of photos! Thanks for sharing! :o)
Great shots from your desert home. As hot as it has been in the southwest, I wouldn't be venturing out of the house of late.
As always wonderful photos. In the first photo I have never seen fruit on Prickly Pear that light. I have that sage green cactus with the purple tint but the fruit on my plant is so much darker. Did yours have yellow blooms too ?Your close-up are always wonderful. I was just thinking I hadn't seen a post from you for sometime and wa-laa a post appeared. Yea !cheers, parsnip
Sure for sure; the colors of desert are brighter than any other location. And your photos prove that very well :)
Hi Parsnip, yes, the purplish prickly pear did have yellow flowers.Dear Betchai, Barb, and Joanne, I think the bird of prey is a Cooper's Hawk.
Amazing photos Diane, you live in such a beautiful area. I love all of the cactus with their bright colors. Great capture of the owl.
won't get tired looking at all your snaps, amazing shots!
As a fellow Arizona-based photoblogger, I really enjoyed viewing your pictures!
A great series of shots. Love what you've done! I've never visited such a place and I think you've managed to capture some of its essence. I'm sure there are other aspects, too, it being a desert :)Next time, I would love you to apply your fine eye to those other aspects as well.Happy photog-ing :)
whew! i missed a lot of your amazing photos!
Those cacts pics look fabulous, Diane!
Love these photos--!
Wonderful images and you saw a lot of wildlife, given the extreme temperatures. That's a spectacular image of the hawk!
Love this set of photos! Especially the hawk! Wonderful work.
Your last 2 pics are incredible -do you have a macro now? You seem to take your shots closer up lately.
What a great post! All shots are wonderful but the top composition is my favourite.
