What? No Roadrunner? I loved seeing Roadrunners when I was a child growing up in AZ.

But regardless, these are great pictures and I miss seeing cactus and blue skies :-D

Great birds shots, most of the birds are different from what we see. Until last week I would have said the grosbeak doesn't hang around here so maybe some of the others are just shy.

I heart Alicia's comment. When I first moved here in about 350 BC, there were roadrunners that went through the back yard of the house that I lived in then quite often. They would perch onto the back fence. Mesa was smaller then and the desert was closer. Now it's so rare a scene that I have to watch the roadrunner cartoons to get my fix. They are just too cute.

Great bird shots....just saw the pteradactl orange/red/grey cardinal looking one yesterday and wondered what it was...now I know!!! It sat right in front of me during lunch time and I thought....you're a pretty looking bird.

You get so many great bird shots. Are they from your yard ? a Mallard ?

I see many of the same birds and I love the crazy antics of the Cactus Wren they are the clowns of the bird world.

Lovely post today.

cheers, parsnip

Hi Parsnip, the only bird pic from my yard is the black-headed grosbeak. The mallard was standing on top of Sabino Dam. I agree, cactus wrens are the most fun to watch. :)

Hi Diane, I love seeing the birds in your area.. I've never seen a Black-headed Grosbeak before. We have the Rose-breasted ones here.

That Flycatcher is a pretty bird. AND--I laugh because there are Cardinals EVERYWHERE --all over the country....

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
