Raptors

When I see a bird of prey in this area, it's usually a Cooper's hawk.

But this fall I noticed some others.  One day I saw three hawks on a telephone pole.  These pictures aren't very clear but I'm guessing the birds were Harris Hawks, since Harris's work cooperatively in small groups, while most other hawks hunt alone.

A Red-tailed hawk (maybe) looked interested in something in a busy parking lot.

Peregrine Falcon on a telephone pole 10/25/12:

This was my first sighting of a Peregrine.  It reminded me of the Kestrel I saw two years ago but this falcon was much bigger and not as camera shy.

That's about it. I hope you're having a great week! :)

W miejscu gdzie mieszkam nie ma szans na zobaczenie takich wspaniałych ptaków. Dziękuję więc za ich zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam.
In the place where I live there is no chance of seeing such wonderful birds. So thank you for the pictures. Yours.

Great shots Diane! WOWSA. Love the Peregrine. It has been Raptor crazy over here. So many of them flying around. We went over to Sabino thi! We went to Sabino this weekend and saw 2 Golden Eagles! Incredible. Love your shots.....but I did notice the Cooper has one of those "good" birds in his claw. No one is safe:) Have a fun Wednesday! Chris

Gorgeous captures! Your comment about the Harris Hawks reminded me of watching them last year for Free Flight at the Desert Museum ... must go again. I'm always amazed at the animals you share with us through your lens ...
