Skywatch - Blooming Cactus

Greetings from Tucson!  Here we have blue skies sweetly scented with saguaro cactus blossoms.




This is a happy time for our family as my daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Geoff, in Massachusetts await the arrival of their first baby, due any day now. :)

    Your blue skies are gorgeous. I have never seen the saguaro blossoms before. They are very pretty! I guess they must need a sweet scent to entice the bees. Plants can be very clever, can't they?

    These shots are awesome, Diane. The insects add so much more interest. Spring used to be my favorite time of year when I lived in Arizona. Fabulous time to walk through the desert.

    Catcus gives the most amazing blooms. Very odd it's only on the top, will it eventually blooms all the way to the bottom too?

    I'd love to see these bloom in person but it is too hot for me in Arizona this time of year.

    We were there after Easter and saw the buds on the saguaros. Those are gorgeous flowers! I'm so happy for you as you wait for the arrival of a beautiful baby! Blessing to all!

    Ann, Yes I'm excited to be a grandma for the first time. :)

    This cactus was only about 10 feet tall. I just stood on the ground and zoomed in with my camera.
