a hawk perched on top of a saguaro
and a smaller bird, possibly a purple martin,
repeatedly circled and swooped down at the hawk.
The hawk just watched
as I watched.

Hello! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteBig hawk on top of a saguaro... what a classic shot!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for the walk in your world
ReplyDeleteNow I have to wonder why the bird was circling!
ReplyDeletePięknie wygląda jastrząb na szczycie kaktusa. Ptaki koło domu też są cudowne, a szczególnie kardynał. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful hawk on top of a cactus. Birds near the house they are wonderful, especially the cardinal. Yours.
My cat is the same way. She could watch them all day. Although the mourning doves make her a little nuts for some reason. I think it is the way they peek at her from their little side eyes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs, I like such views:) Greetings
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, I love your desert photos. Always a pleasure to pop in and see what you have to share that day.

What wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThe cardinals make me smile - they are so flamboyant.
ReplyDeleteLovely wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how they can sit on the cactus. the Martin is/was very brave or dumb ?
Lots of Cardinals have been out and about at my home lately.
I adore the different marked Dove. I have never seen on like that before.
cheers, parsnip
Fab photos! I'm particularly attracted to the Gambel's Quail...I just love 'em to bits...wish I lived near a whole bevy of them! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe hawk just watched, as you watched.
ReplyDeleteAnd I watch.
Wonderful photographs, such a closeness of the nature is enrapturing:) Greetings
ReplyDeletethe hawk on top of saguaro, that was something i wanted to see when i visited Arizona last spring, you always have amazing wildlife in your side of the world, what a beautiful morning
ReplyDeleteI love when the kitties help me watch the birds although they have moments of excitement and then they are all gone:) Wonderful shots and love all your birds on your post today.
ReplyDeleteThe first shot is amazing. Capturing the light so well can be quite tricky at times. The bird pictures are lovely, especially like the close one of the hawk.
