Tao of Contentment

as water

nourishes all things effortlessly

and is satisfied to settle in low places

we too can be content with what we have

rejoice in the way things are

understand there is nothing lacking

enjoy simple everyday lives

realize the mystery

when there is no desire
all things are at peace

~adapted from chapters 1, 8, 37 and 44 of the Tao Te Ching

This plant on your profile, what is it? Is it a mullein?

This reminds me that I need to just slow down and enjoy all I have.

So why do I have this little voice inside saying I'll FINALLY be happy when I have my next 12 songs recorded and ready or when I win Kerrville New Folk next year. And why does that little voice matter so much to me?

I guess I really need to work on what you say here.

Those are great words from Tao and the photos go well with the words. Have a happy Sunday Diane. Oh, btw I'd like to know the name of that green flower from your photo profile.

Hi, Pacey, I'm not sure what kind of plant my profile photo is. Ann inquired if it was a Mullein, but the leaves aren't fuzzy, so probably not. It was in a succulent garden and my best guess would be a Sempervivum.
