Summer Snapshots

Hello! These pictures are from July and August. The first two are from short nature walks in the desert and the rest are from the neighborhood and backyard.

A bobcat came into our yard, took a long seven-minute drink of water from the toad's dish and left.

The toad has been living in our backyard for a few years but we only see it during monsoon seasons.

Around the House

Here are some of the animals, plants and skies that I have seen this month at home.

This showy flower is growing from a bulb I planted in a pot on the patio over a year ago.

A pair of cardinals visit the bird feeder often. A few years ago cardinals were raising young in our backyard but I haven't found any nests recently.

Speedy, our pet turtle, patrols the yard for insects.

Have a good week!
