This showy flower is growing from a bulb I planted in a pot on the patio over a year ago.
A pair of cardinals visit the bird feeder often. A few years ago cardinals were raising young in our backyard but I haven't found any nests recently.
Speedy, our pet turtle, patrols the yard for insects.
Have a good week!

Your captures of birds are fantastic. The hummingbird is especially great.
Do cardinals mate for life? I love the colour of the male cardinal although I think his crest makes him look rather weird.
all gorgeous!!!!!
Fabulous desert images. I like the name Speedy. I'm also enjoying some desert warmth near Fountain Hills, AZ.
The week should only be at its best after seeing these pics. So full of colors and happiness.
Nice shots of the birds, especially the cardinals...
I have a Cardinal pair who visit me and I must admit I love the way the Female looks over the showy male.
Her colors are so delicate and I think glowing.
My brother and wife are a turtle rescue family. Kawaii !

A flowery spring that is full of sounds of the birds.
Really beautiful photos !!
Love the cardinals. I guess we have them up here in Phoenix but I never see them, I think they're maybe outside the city more. What sort of hummingbird is that? I only see Anna's in my yard. Cute kitties, and cute young roadrunner. It looks lovely where you live...
Hi Maccandace, the little hummer is a broad-billed, that is the most common type in my yard.
I am rather jealous of your home and feel like being a cat right now! ;-)
