Weekend Reflections - Outside the Gallery
This window caught my eye near the entrance to Tucson Botanical Gardens.
Besides the shiny glass of the windows, the shutters also interested me because they are made with ribs from saguaro cacti.
Stepping a little closer to the window, I could glimpse paintings hanging inside the art gallery. I liked the montage effect of tree and shrub foliage outdoors superimposed on the artwork inside.
The paintings of David Conklin are currently on display in the Gallery at the Gardens until January 3, 2010. His work reflects southwestern scenes and wildlife. Here's a peek at some of the paintings inside:

Beautiful design to the window. And the reflections make it an artistic wonder. Thank you for introducing the painter.
I love how you got the different angles of the windows! The reflection of the leaves are lighter.
I would love to see those exhibits! Great collage of his work.

That is really neat. The paintings and the lights add to the reflection.
I like the way you guide us through places ,light, and reflects , to finally discover the paintings!

Your reflection shot is almost like an impressionistic painting itself!
Nice finds!
Shutter from ribs of the saguaro cacti! Very interesting, Diane.
Oh beautiful reflections, Diane!
Being able to see the inside of the gallery adds such a layer of warmth to your photos. He is a very good artist, isn't he. Which reminds me: I must get down to my local gallery and see what is on the walls this month.
I LOVE the reflections in the window in the 3rd pic! Very interesting where the shutters are made of!!
The work of David Conklin are awesome - I love his landscape the most of the ones you've posted!
I like the way you lead and let your photos tell the story. I like the photo with the tree trunk on the right side best.
Love the idea of layers of art ~ natural and manmade! Lovely melting of colours!
Very nice effect of the reflection against the window, and the pastel shades of the paintings.
How beautiful! I love the saguaro shutters. And the gradual revealing of the paintings!
I like the window pictures they are artisticly done. It looks like the way the camera took the picture it created an interesting reflection.
Great work.
the 3rd photo is like a painting itself. great reflection captures as usual. great works of the painter too. ;)
have a happy weekend!
Gorgeous reflections and I love the shots of the paintings. This is a really neat meme, maybe next week I'll give it a try.
Very interesting! There is an exhibit at the Phoenix Botanical Garden right now on Botanical Art but the reflections were not as striking as yours when I went...
Somehow the two first ones gave me a Christmas feeling - I don't exactly know why.
My kind of reflections entirely. Absolutely wonderful ones!
Absolutely beautiful reflections!
Interesting reflections of the mottled foliage over the geometrics of the gallery wall. His paintings are superb.
I really like the shutters with the Saguaro spines. I've seen walls covered with them. Plus they make great walking sticks, light and strong.
beautiful and interesting reflection pictures, your second picture really interest me the most, as to how the superimposition of the outside shrubs with the artworks inside created a phenomenal shot, as always, love your work Diane.
Thanks for leading us right inside!
It was great to see peak inside the window as well as enjoy the reflection. ;-)
I'm going to the Botanical Gardens to check this out. Way cool!
When I saw "Desert Colors" on Mr. Linky I'm thinking what reflects in the desert! This coming from someone who is only thinking water! These are beautiful captures of reflections and I love the texture of the building and the painting of the cougar is stunning. Thank you for sharing.
