oh, now i know what are mesquite, i always wondered where the name came from. and love your picture of the mesquite beans, and am amazed always at all your bird sightings in the trails.
Until your photos, I hadn't seen any red pods! Wonderful! As it happens, I was just out in the front yard helping to rake up the blanket of mesquite pods.
Mesquite beans are beautiful. Everytime I see them this time of year, I just look at how they cluster. And then when I dog sit, I have to make sure the dogs don't go overboard and eat too many of the pods:)
I should pay better attention. I had never noticed before that the mesquite beans turn red. Or else, it's just been too long since we were back there and I have forgotten! ;-) I love the leaflet shadows on the seed pods.
Hi, i haven't heard of mesquite trees and beans. I don't know what they are for, but they are very beautiful. And being a legume i know they help fertilize the soil.
Strąki fasoli są bardzo ozdobne i drzewo jest kolorowe, jakby były na nim kwiaty. *** Bardzo lubię do Ciebie zaglądać :-), bo przyroda jest inna niż u nas. Pozdrawiam. Bean pods are very decorative and the tree is colored as if they were flowers on it. *** I like the look you :-), because nature is different than ours. Yours.

So many good things come out of the mesquite tree: "the tree of life."
And for sure birds know that :-)
Your pictures with the pods are simply marvelous.
I wish one day i will really understand and accept the both sides of everything... Delicious photos, love especially the last one...

Love your photos, Diane, as I get to see a different livelihood in your part! The mesquite beans are beautiful with the shadow on them.
The beans, the colors, the shapes, the shadows - all perfect!
A ver si estas avecillas me dejan un poco de fruto, porque me encanta.
Saludos.
