Brittlebush

Brittlebush is a common desert shrub that gets the name because its stems can break off easily. It's in the same family as the sunflower.

They are not one of my favorite plants/flowers. After they bloom I always have the gardener cut all the dead foliage down to the ground around my home.
But some of your photos make them looks so nice. Now I will have to go outside and see if my Brittlebrush look like sunflowers in your beautiful photos.

cheers, parsnip

Isn't yellow such an empowering color? I always associate with a color of vibrancy and hope but I remember I had only worn this color once in my life so far! Nice shots!

These flowers, like a little sunshine. It's nice to look at because of our cold, cloudy and sometimes it snows. Regards.

I imagine that anything more robust than a butterfly would cause it some injury then.

I didn't know what they were called, I thought they were just some sort of mini-sunflower. I guess they are. Thanks.

I think that brittlebrush grows here too. It sure looks familiar.
